Ingenious owns the south side, which is a key spot. Ingenious is actively working, at various places in this area, on acquiring grounds and relocating the current companies. Ingenious expects to be able to build, in cooperation with third parties, up to 50% of the total number of houses in this area.
About this area
Industrial area ‘Het Ambacht’ is a dated area, situated very close to the ‘Stationskwartier’. This area will be transformed, the coming years, into an area that focuses on housing. The municipality of Veenendaal has declared to desire to transform this area, in a period of about ten years, into a highly urban, mixed housing estate that focuses on sustainability and mobility. This area will offer space to more than 1,500 houses that are absolutely necessary for the housing need in Veenendaal and its surroundings.

The strength of ‘Het Ambacht’
This area development is partly made possible because the government decided to build more houses. An important aspect to qualify for this, was a cooperation with the owners of the land, of which Ingenious is one of the bigger players. Other aspects are affordable houses (social housing and mid prices houses), creating a green main structure and places to stay, sustainable energy solutions, mobility and public transfer.
